Rules and Regulations

  1. We are there to help the client first and foremost.  Everything you do on an investigation, you should always keep that in mind.
  2. Always maintain your professionalism.  This includes dressing appropriately (including your uniform shirt, if you have one), no drinking before or during an investigation, being open-minded yet discerning, etc.
  3. Always keep a few SEPRS business cards on hand.  If you run across someone who is having paranormal problems, give them a card and tell them about our organization.  If they want, take their contact information.  If they're interested, have them call the number on the card or let them know we will call them.  Only officers may arrange an investigation.   Mind your p's and q's when representing the organization in public.  Don't make any promises on behalf of the group.
  4. Each member is responsible for obtaining their own investigative equipment.  This should consist of, at the bare minimum a good digital or SLR camera and a voice recorder.  See the equipment page for more information.
  5. For most local investigations, invitations are based on your attendance at the AFS meetings.  We do accept membership requests from serious investigators outside of the Knoxville area, but rule No. 3 still applies.  Keep in mind that when we're investigating private residences or small businesses, not everyone can go to each investigation.
  6. When you are involved in an investigation, be where you're supposed to be on time.  No smoking indoors on an investigation.   Remember that paranormal investigation isn't half as glamorous as it's portrayed on TV.  Most of the time you will find yourself simply sitting quietly, watching, and waiting for something that may or may not happen.  Each member is responsible for reviewing their data in a timely manner after an investigation and reporting any anomalies back to the group so that a report can be prepared for the client.
  7. Membership dues are $60 annually.  This money is used to pay for our webhosting, business cards, advertising, and occasionally for equipment for the group.  Dues collected are used for the benefit of the entire group.

So if you're interested in becoming a member, contact us, or you may fill out a membership request form.
